Description



AAC, AAAC, ACSR form part of the family of Overhead Conductors, Transmission Conductors and Power Distribution Conductors. These cables are formally known as All Aluminium Conductor (AAC), All Aluminium Alloy Conductor (AAAC) and Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACSR).

All Aluminium Conductor (AAC):

AAC is used mainly in urban areas where the spacing is short and che supports are close. Class AA for bare conductors used in overhead lines. Class A conductors to be covered with weather-resistant materials and for bare conductors where greater flexibility are required.

Construction:
AAC cable has a concentric lay stranded conductor consisting of Aluminum Alloy 1350-H19 wires and is available in both
single-layer and multi-layer constructions. Note: AAC ampacity is based on 75ºC conductor temperature, 25 ºC ambient, 2ft1s wind,
961 watts/sq. foot sun, 0.5 coefficients of emissivity and absorption.



Aluminium Conductors steel Reinforced(ACSR) :

ACSR conductors have been widely used in power transmission lines with various voltage levels, because they have such good characteristics as simple structure, convenient installation and maintenance, low cost large transmission capacity. And they are also suitable for laying across rivers valleys and the places where special geographical features exist.

Construction: 

1. The structure of ACSR is simple, it consists of a solid or stranded steel core surrounded by strands of aluminium.

2. Aluminum  1350-H-19 wires, concentrically stranded about a steel core. 

3. Core wire for ACSR is available with class A, B, or C galvanizing; ""aluminized"" aluminum coated (AZ); Or aluminum-clad (AW).

4. Additional corrosion protection is available through the application of grease to the corer or infusion of the complete cable with grease.

All Aluminum Alloy Conductor, or AAAC, is an electrical cable mainly used for distribution services as well as overhead
transmission, both primary and secondary. The cable can also be used for grounding in electrical constructions. The conductor
achieves a high ratio of weight to strength due to the durable aluminum alloy. The stranded concentric lay rope conductor for this electrical cable is aluminum alloy 6201-T81 conductor, which is resistant to corrosion.

Construction:

All aluminum alloy conductor cable has stranded concentric lay rope aluminum alloy 6201-T81 conductor, which is resistant to
corrosion and similar in appearance to a 1350-H19 grade aluminum conductor.
Note: DC resistance at 20°C of the 6201-T81 alloy is more resistant to abrasion than those of 1350-H19 grade aluminum.
