The Dirk Is Collectible "Kalashnikov Gold Ak-74"

The steel double-edged blade features 15 cm of etching, gilding and blueing. It has one short fuller bearing Mikhail Kalashnikov's signature against a blued background. The heel features the USSR coat of arms.

The reverse of the heel bears the logotype of the Praktica corporation, series indication "AK-74" and category number "Z-18"; the sides of the heel have inscriptions "O.V. Averkin" and "The city of Zlatoust, 2013".

The hilt consists of a grip with two caps and a pommel, and a cross guard with a cross bar.

The wooden barrel-shaped twisted grip is winded with two - white smooth and gilded twisted - wires. The caps are octahedral. The round conic pommel is decorated with a plated coat of arms of the Russian Federation. The cross guard is straight-shaped, it has dilative ends decorated with a silhouette of the AK-74 assault rifle. The cross bar shaped as a pentagonal escutcheon bears an inscription "AK-74" encircled in an oak ornament.

The metal sheath has two nuts and a tip. The nuts are decorated with an oak leaf ornament. In between the middle bands there is a plated relief portrait of Mikhail Kalashnikov and an inscription of his name. There is a plated five-point star under the lower middle band.

The sheath and the hilt are decorated with an ear ornament, an oak leaf ornament and a stylized flowery pattern.

All kinds of cold steel arms (including gratuity and gift) decorated in technique of Zlatoust engraving are the main products of the enterprise. Apart from arms arms, decorated wine, writing and game sets, chess sets, caskets, cups, trophies and other products are made in the workshop.

The products of the workshop were presented to the leaders of European, Asian, African and American states, and they are also kept in the museums of the Moscow Kremlin, the State Historical Museum (Moscow), the Central Naval Museum and the Military-Historial Museum of Artillery, Engineer and Signal Corps (St.Peterburg), in museus of Ekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Saratov, Zlatoust.

• The tradition of decorated Zlatoust engraving on the steel originated in 1815. This type of arts and crafts emerged as a decoration of cold steel, when Zlatoust factory of arms was established.


• The project with the participation of outstanding general constructor of small arms M.T. Kalashnikov (AK-47) became really unique.


• In 2008 the manufacture "Praktica" was awarded with the title "Official Purveyor to the Moscow Kremlin" by the decree of Guild of Purveyors to the Moscow Kremlin.
