Manufacturing Technique
Black Tea Manufacturing Process
Plucking Tea pickers handpick the two leaves and bud from the tea bushes
Withering Plucked leaves put into withering troughs with hot or ambient air fanning the leaves to reduce the moisture content of the plucked leaf
Rolling In a Roller which applies pressure on the leaf in stages, using a rolling motion to break up the leaf cells & mix up the chemical components of the leaf.
Fermentation Rolled leaves spread out on an even surface and left to allow oxidization / fermentation
Firing The fermented leaves are passed through the dryer which generates high heat. To removes most of the leaf moisture and stops fermentation by destroying the enzymes
