⇒ What is Jute?
Jute is a strong, natural fibre; sustainable and eco-friendly. 

This silky fibre has a golden shine to it and so is referred to as “The Golden Fibre”.  
There are many reasons for this but the most important is that Jute is fully sustainable; it is estimated that there is enough Jute to provide everybody in the world with two bags per year!  Jute is one of the most affordable natural fibres that can be spun into coarse, strong threads.  It is 100% bio-degradable.

Jute is a strong, natural affordable fibre with a low carbon and water footprint.

Jute is a wonderfully versatile material – aside from the fibres being used to make fabrics, they are also used for twine, shoes and bags.  The outer is used for firewood, the leaves for food.
It takes approximately 4 to 6 months for the plant to fully grow, it can be found mostly in the Bengal area (India and Bangladesh).

Nothing is genetically modified where Jute is concerned, no pesticides or fertilisers are used to enhance the growing process.  Its water footprint is also low as it is largely rain fed meaning that it does not rely on irrigation. 

⇒ Juco – The Eco Alternative
Juco is becoming an increasingly popular option for many of our customers.

It is a 75% Jute and 25% Cotton blend. 

It offers all of the natural production as with the Jute but when blended with Cotton it offers a finer weave.  This provides the option to customers to be able to print a more detailed design on this fabric as it has more of a Cotton finish. 

Juco has all the qualities and versatility of both Jute and Cotton and is just as strong and reusable, so can be used in much the same way, for shopping bags, wine/bottle bags, fashion bags etc.
