CERIUM metaL

Cerium is the second element of the lanthanide series. It is a ductile metal with a hardness comparable to that of silver.Cerium metal tarnishes slowly in air, forming a spalling oxide layer like iron rust.It burns readily at 150 °C to form the pale-yellow cerium(IV) oxide.
