WHAT IS HDPE PLASTIC CORE?
HDPE (full name is High-density polyethylene) or PEHD (full name is polyethylene high-density): is a thermoplastic material with
high density. HDPE is known for its large strength-to-density ratio (strength/ density ~0.95g/cm3). Specifically, the density of HDPE can be in the range of 0.93-0.97 g/cm3 or 970 kg/m3. Although the density of HDPE material is only higher than that of low-density polyethylene, because HDPE has little branching, HDPE pipes have very strong intermolecular forces. Therefore, HDPE pipes have a higher tensile strength than pipes made from LDPE (Low-density polyethylene) - a low-density thermoplastic material.
