Rose McCutchan
Founder
After working in the professional food service world in NYC for several years, Rose moved home to Floyd VA to open a small cafe with her mother and sister. After six years in business, Rose decided to up the cafe’s quality by investing in roasting coffee in-house. For this task, she conscripted her husband, Haden, and the two began Red Rooster with the help of friends and family. Today, Rose continues to manage the coffee shop, The BlackWater Loft, while managing purchasing and bookkeeping for the Red Rooster roasting business.
Tony Greatorex
Head Roaster
Tony has worked in the coffee industry since 2007. After a few years behind the bar, he moved behind the scenes in 2012 to manage roasting and production in the early years of Red Rooster's existence. His roasting experience to that point was limited to loose experiments on a popcorn air popper. Through trial and (more than a few) error(s), online research, chaff fires, crippling insecurity, and roasting conferences, he gained confidence and knowledge to his roasting approach. As with life, he views coffee roasting as an ever-changing thing, full of opportunities to learn and evolve.
Jolie Greatorex
Brand & Marketing Manager, J.T. Copper Co- Founder
Jolie was raised in Maine and relocated to southwest Virginia in late 2009. Her diverse background includes 6 years of radio broadcasting and several years in fashion merchandising. Originally hired as the office manager in 2014, Jolie has since taken over Red Rooster’s marketing and branding, as well as founding the small batch syrup company, J.T. Copper. When she’s at home, she enjoys yoga, sewing, hiking with her husband and dogs and binge-watching Project Runway and The Great British Baking Show. In November 2019 they welcomed their first child, daughter Birdie.
