• ETNEO BASALT IS AN EFFUSIVE VOLCANIC ROCK, BASIC TYPE.
  It is extracted with the so-called "by cascade" method, which consists in determining the collapse due to breakage of an irregular solettone of an uncontrollable size. The rough blocks are passed to the sawmills which obtain slabs, from which coating elements are made which can be smoothed, polished, or majolica.

Process

• Each single product is considered a unique piece with its specific characteristics and small irregularities that distinguish it and confirm its craftsmanship. Thanks to their versatility and resistance, the lava stone floors and tiles are available in different formats, compositions and finishes such as: natural, waxed, cooked, ceramic, plain, brushed and decorated. Lava stone ceramic can also be used for the construction of fireplaces and swimming pools as it does not fear temperature changes and resists chemicals well. Studio Le Nid uses lava stone to make tiles, tables, kitchen and bathroom tops, floors, mosaics, shower trays, sinks and interior coverings.
