It is an excellent alternative to other traditional solvents because of some of its properties such as ; Low (negligible) toxicity, Low vapor pressure (high boiling point) & slow evaporation, Biodegradability, High miscibility with most organic solvents as alcohols, ketones, ethers, and many hydrocarbons, but is only slightly soluble in water and higher paraffins.
