Surgical Ophthalmology Eye Speculum
The eyelid retractors are the lavator muscle and Muller's muscle in the upper eyelid, fascia and inferior tarsal muscle in the lower eyelid. Normal eyelid position is important for ocular surface protection and normal appearance. Ophthalmic retractors (eye retractors) commonly used in eye surgical procedures include self-retaining patterns such as the Agricola lachrymal Sac retractor and Jaffe lid retractors and handheld patterns such as Desmarres in stainless steel and titanium.
