The type of cationic polyacrylamide ion degree should be selected according to the dehydration type in the sludge dehydration, and the filter press is suitable for the cationic PAM of 15%-40% ionization degree. The centrifuge is suitable for 30%-60% ionicity. If the degree of ionization is too low, there will be “run mud” during the process of inaccurate dewatering of the flocs. If the degree of ionization is too high, there will be such problems as poor mud removal and sludge sticky filter cloths.
1. Precautions
Polyacrylamide is used as a coagulant for water purification. It must be fully stirred and dissolved before it can be used. Otherwise, it will not be able to exert its effective high-coagulation effect. It will also cause adverse effects such as blocking the injection system, sealing the surface of the filter, destroying the efficiency of the filter, and greatly shortening the backwash cycle of the filter. When stirring, the stirring speed should be controlled between 400 and 1000r/min, and the stirring time should be about 1h. In low temperature seasons, the water temperature is low and it is difficult to dissolve. With hot water, the dissolution time can be shortened. However, the water temperature cannot exceed 60°C.
2. Optimal dosage
Polyacrylamide as a water purification coagulant, to achieve the best amount of coagulation effect is very small, the best dosage is 0.03 ~ 0.4mg/L. Beyond this range will not work or it will be easy to have side effects.
3. The best dosing point
Dosing point is the key to determine the effectiveness of polyacrylamide coagulation precipitation. The best dosing point is 1/2 to 2/3 of the total flow of flocculation produced in clean water.
4. How to ensure uniform mixing
To ensure uniform mixing, the most dilute concentration should be used. The polyacrylamide concentration is about 0.05%, which is not only favorable for stirring and dissolving, but also convenient for dosing and use, and the best coagulation effect is achieved. Polyacrylamide solution should not be stored more than 10d, nor contact with iron, dissolved water temperature can not exceed 60 °C. Otherwise, the polyacrylamide molecular chain is broken and the coagulation aid effect is lost, and the adverse effect of purifying the acrylamide monomer content in the effluent is caused.
5. The best hydrolysis ratio
Polyacrylamide hydrolysis (alkaline) can improve the coagulation effect. The hydrolysis time is about 8h and the optimal hydrolysis ratio is 1:0.01 to 1:0.05. In actual production, it is often an emergency use, and there is no sufficient hydrolysis time. The purpose of better hydrolysis can be achieved by increasing the hydrolysis ratio. With the current hydrolysis is more suitable than 1:0.2.
6. Monomer content
In order to ensure that the acrylamide monomer content in the effluent purified does not exceed the hygienic standard, a polyacrylamide with a high degree of polymerization must be used as a water purification aid for drinking water, and a product with an acrylamide monomer content of less than 0.2% is required.
7. Effect
For a variety of raw water quality (including overload of about 35%), high-efficient coagulant polyacrylamide can play a good coagulation and sedimentation effect. For example, in the third workshop of Shiwan Water Works, its designed water supply capacity is 15×104 t/d. Polyacrylamide is used as a coagulant, dosage is 0.05mg/L to ensure high quality water supply. Under the premise of the whole day, the water supply volume reached 22.3×104 t, which exceeded the designed water supply capacity of 48.7%.
