[Harvesting and processing] April ~ May or September ~ October digging root, remove residual stem and soil (do not wash with water, to prevent fading), dry in the sun or light fire drying.
[ Traits and taste ] The xinjiang lithosperma (euchroma lucifera) is irregular long cylindrical, often twisted, 7 ~ 20cm long, 1 ~ 2.5cm in diameter. The surface is purplish red or purplish brown, the skin is loose and strip shaped, often more than 10 layers overlap, easy to peel off. There are divergent stem residues at the apex. Light, soft, easy to break, irregular section, small wood, yellow white or yellow. Qi special, taste slightly bitter, astringent. The inner Mongolian clover is conical or cylindrical, twisted, 6 ~ 20cm long and 0.5 ~ 4cm in diameter. Root head slightly thick, apical stump 1 or more, covered with short bristle.
