Polyimide Resin is regarded as the super engineering plastic because of the excellent heat resistance, mechanical properties, chemical resistance and etc.. The film is used widely for flexible print circuit because of the electrical properties, dimensional stability and heat resistance.

Typical Application
Filler for compounding with PTFE Fluoropolymer
PTFE is excellent engineering plastic because of the self-lubricating, chemical resistance, high heat resistance. However, it has weak points on hardness, wear resistance, creep property.
By compounding with polyimide powder, the weak point of PTFE is improved.
Sintering at 380 ℃ is required to make PTFE part and secure the best performance of the
PTFE. Therefore, the filler resin must withstand until 380 ℃. The polyimide powder is the filler to withstand such high temperature.
In case of sliding application, non-organic filler such as glass fiber and metal have risk to damage the mating material. Because polyimide is resin, it does not have such risk.
Typical end application: Sliding part, piston ring for compressor.
