This bokken or "wooden sword" is handmade from oak trees that grow sturdy through the severely cold winters of the  Hokkaido region, in a factory specializing in hardwoods. This solid, beautiful bokken can be used not only for martial arts, but also for a wide range of other purposes; such as interior decoration, practice swinging, and as a cosplay item. They also make wonderful gifts.

1. The thickness of the board is adjusted and cut according to the intended use.

2. The lumber is dried naturally in a covered, well-ventilated shed.

3. The dried material is cut according to the shape. The wood is shaped to fit the warp of the wooden sword.

4. Each piece is shaped by hand using a chisel and plane.

5. The surface is polished with various grades of sandpaper.

6. The final finish is applied in two stages: priming and finishing.
