In many cases, the New Urban Transit is used as an access between airport and city.
Since there are no rails, there are also no iron wheels like ordinary trains.
As shown in the picture, the tire is similar to those of automobiles and supports the vertical load from the train.
However, because the train runs along the guide and there are many trains in a row, the tire is subjected to a large horizontal load especially at high speeds and when travelling along curves.
Since the New Urban Transit travels at 60 kph and above during high speed, the rotational speed of guide wheels reaches 1500 rpm and above. Considering that roller coaster wheels travel around 1000 rpm (The speed may exceed 100 kph, but the wheel diameter is small and so the rotational speed.), they will be subjected to severe load at extremely high-speed rotation.
General urethane rubber cannot withstand these harsh service conditions.
However, we had developed special urethane rubber that makes it possible to use even under such harsh conditions.
This guide wheel is installed horizontally with respect to the train, and always responsible for the horizontal load.
In addition, even though the urban transit runs along the guide, when the train reaches a junction, the switching wheel supports the load. Although MC nylon may be used for this guide wheel, normally, for switching wheel urethane rubber is mostly used.
This is because MC nylon, as it is hard, is inferior to elastic urethane rubber in terms of noise problems and riding comfort experience.
