We cut the bark in March to April (when the weather is warm).The resin will slowly leak out. Until the last months of year, when the weather is colder,

the resin is completely dried, wen begin to harvest the resin. It will take about the 9 months from cutting the bark to collecting the resin.

After that, we let the benzoin tree rest within 3 months before the next harvest. During this time, bark wounds will regenerate on their own.

Benzoin Resin with 100% Natural

Styrax benzoin or simply benzoin is a gum resin derived from the bark of the styrax benzoin tree. Once it has solidified, the resin can be burned releasing a pleasant sweet, vanilla type fragrance. 

Benzoin is a popular incense especially in Asian countries but it can also be used for a variety of health purposes.

The product can be described as white-yellow to reddish splits of flattened almond-like grains with a strong vanilla smell

The resin is composed mainly by benzoic acid (15-45 %) and coniferyl benzoate (15-60%), with lesser amounts of vanillinpes.

The production is entirely manual, from tapping to packaging. It is variously referred to as Siam benzoin gum, Siam benzoin and Benzoin Vietnam or in a generic way as “benzoin gum”. Vietnam & Laos are considered as the major producer of Benzoe tonkinensis, if not the only two at present.
