In Sicily mulberries are called Gelsi. Mulberry trees were grown for silk worm production. They are vigorous trees with large leafs and in the summer they carry longish berries similar to rasperries or blackberries. Their flavor is very intense and remembers elderflower and wild berries. Our company was founded in 2004 under the name of “Il Mercato” . After years of continuous work and expansion in 2015 we were ready to open our local company to larger markets and changed it to the actual “Tasting Sicily” Brand. It has always been the love for good food, the passion for our island, the excellency of sicilian raw materials and our commitment to quality that made us go forward. Still today we produce and pack our products by hand and continue to offer high quality specialities to food lovers.
