Hi everyone! I am Ismat Jerin Khan, Managing Director, Jermartz Limited. Jermatz is a certified Woman Business Enterprise that produces eco-friendly versatile jute products since 2014 and has been exporting in different parts of the world regularly. The journey of Jermatz was a turbulent one with additional challenges for being a women-owned business. At the beginning, it was difficult to get buyers' confidence as we were a start up and moreover a women-owned business.
Let me share with you my experience of the first International order. The buyer took some time to place the order after we got introduced. It was difficult for her to rely on us at first instance, now she is working with us regularly. We could convince her by our creative design, quality of the samples and winning price. Then she decided to order. Then a new challenge appeared as we had to increase our production capacity to cater her order. We were in need of bank finance. But accessing finance is always difficult for women. Banks had that typical mindset that their investment might not be returned. We could finally convince our bank with our relentless effort, arranged the finance and increased our capacity. Finding the raw materials was also a challenge. But our great team went an extra mile and solved all the challenges and delivered the products in time. Trust me it felt so good when we could deliver the products in time in right quality. Our buyer was really glad and we still treasure that moment with us.
