This sundial compass is made of brass. The sundial face is about 3" wide. The legs are adjustable for any surface. The compass comes in a wood box.
The sundial compass will make a great nautical decor piece. It is meant for display purposes only.
The sundial works by opening the pivoted vane on the top of the sundial and set it vertical then move the scale piece on the side which shows the line of latitude (you can find your line of latitude on google maps and clicking on your area then the latitude degrees will show on the curser).
Release the needle on the compass by the slider on the side, the pin will rotate round until the pin settles at north on the
compass, move the compass around to align, a shadow from the vane will show the time on a sunny day onto the dial.
The item is made of cast brass, highly antique finish.
