We created delicious dashi salt nuts be adding a little of our original Tsukushin dashi salt made with plenty of kombu dashi to nuts. The mild savoriness and saltiness are a great match with nuts!
In addition to enjoying them alone at tea time or as a snack with drinks, use them in meals and desserts as well.
About Dashi Salt: We added kombu dashi broth made with our prized kombu to salt made from the waters of the Goto-nada Sea of Nagasaki Prefecture in western Japan to create seasoned salt packed with savory umami flavor. Coating salt with kombu dashi broth gives it a well-rounded salty flavor that brings out and enhances the flavors of foods. Kombu is the foundation of Japanese cooking, and kombu dashi broth is rich in the savory umami flavor of glutamic acid, and this umami flavor is what makes traditional Japanese cooking and Japanese dishes so delicious. Plenty of this savory kombu dashi is added to the salt to coat it. There are many seasoned salts sold which mix salt with amino acids, but there are not very many seasoned salts which combine salty and savory without using artificial flavorings. The ability to make this product is an advantage of being a kombu seller. Seasonings made with salt and artificial flavorings have a strong savory flavor, but they linger on the palate. In this respect, since our dashi salt has a natural umami flavor, it is not especially strong, but it has a clean aftertaste that does not leave an unpleasantly lingering savory flavor. The kombu dashi coating also takes the edge off the salt, making this a mild seasoning.
