4" diameter 28 ply razor or knife edge buff. Leather center. Mounts on a tapered spindle or mandrel. A wheel buff for use on a tapered spindle. This little buff quickly becomes the handiest thing in the shop. It's tapered form and razor thin edge gets into many places no other buff can get. Fitted with the patented leather center to keep it rigid on the taper spindle. Available in firm mill treated or soft untreated cloth. Diameters range from 2-1/2" to 6".

Razor buffs are a specialty buff designed for finishing narrow recessed areas that are inaccessible to most full disc buffs. They are manufactured by sewing various diameters of cloth discs together with the smaller discs in the center, this produces a buff that is thicker in the center and tapers out to a very thin working face. Subsequently, as the buff wears the narrow face will gradually increase in width and are the most effective as an exceptionally narrow buff in the first 1/2 to 2/3 of the total usable diameter. A very light raking is required initially but should be performed as little as possible thereafter to achieve the maximum life expectancy of such a narrow buff. Available in mill treated cloth for enhanced cut down performance as well as the softer untreated cloth for final finishing.

Application:

Generally selected for finishing narrow channels or recessed areas, sharp bends, and other difficult-to-reach areas. Designed for use on a tapered spindle or mandrel.
