The Express Arthroscopy Hip is a compact, versatile alternative to our traditional arthroscopy hip trainer. This model includes #1174-36 replaceable hip insert consisting of a proximal femur with cam lesion, modified hemi pelvis, labrum, and hip capsule. Also included is #1485-317replaceable skin cover, articulating arm, and stand.
The articulating arm adjusts and secures range of motion as well as hip traction and fixation to aid in the diagnostic tour in the central and peripheral compartments of the hip.
The stand enables the pelvis to tilt +/- 30° and holds the model securely to most surfaces in a supine or lateral approach without the use of clamps so you can train with it anywhere.
This model is a useful diagnostic and skills training, practice and demonstration tool.
Practice the following procedures: * Portal placement (AP, ALP, PLP and DALA) and landmarks (greater trochanter and ASIS) * Capsulotomy and capsular closure * Navigation with a 70° scope: manipulate the hip, traction for access to the central compartment or flexion for the peripheral compartment * Diagnostic of hip central and peripheral compartment * Labral repair and FAI * CAM decompression and Pincer * Treatment of articular cartilage injuries

About Us
The company’s first products were prepreg composite parts for the sporting goods industry. Soon a connection was made with Dr.Frederick Lippert who was the Chief of Orthopedics at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Seattle and Associate Professor Orthopedics at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
Dr. Lippert was concerned that the orthopaedic resident training programs did not include enough hands-on training. Lippert’s vision was to have a plastic artificial bone that cut, drilled, and felt like real bone to be used to practice all the various procedures of orthopaedic surgery. With the aid of Dr. Lippert’s enthusiasm and guidance, the right combination of materials was formulated at PRL and SAWBONES was born.
The company, headquartered on Vashon Island, now has over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space and provides Sawbones products to customers all over the world. In addition, we have a sales and customer service office and warehouse located in Malmoe Sweden - Sawbones Europe AB - servicing all of our Europe, Middle East and Africa customers.
