Carbamide of grade B is used in agriculture. It represents colorless crystals. It is easily soluble in water, alcohol, ammonia liquid and sulfurous-acid anhydride. Carbamide under the rights conditions of storage is not toxic and is packed in valve paper and polymer bags according to the regulatory and technical documentation. It is transported as packaged and in bulk by all means of roofed transport except for air transport. Due to the fact that carbamide of grade B has high concentration of nitrogen (46,2%), economic viability of its usage is extremely high, especially, considering the fact that this fertilizer is suitable for any agricultural crop and for any kind of soil.

Manufacturing process

Production with the usage of “CO2 Stripping process” technology
Ammonia and carbonic dioxide turn into carbamide through ammonium carbamate at a pressure of approximately 140 bars and at a temperature of 180-185°C. Conversion of ammonia reaches 41%, of carbon dioxide – 60%. Unreacted ammonia and carbon dioxide go to the stripper, in this respect, CO2 acts as stripper’s agent. After the condensation CO2 and NH3 are recycled and returned to synthesis process. The heat of the condensation is used to generate steam which enters the CO2 compressor.
Synthesis with a Pool Condenser
This technology is used successfully in the production of carbamide at the maximum capacity up to 3200 tons per day. We use this method of producing carbamide of mark B, because it allows us to reduce the costs of operating machinery significantly because of another technological process along with maintaining high efficiency. That is what allows keeping an attractive price for our customers even with large volumes of delivery.
Mega-production of carbamide of grade B using Stamicarbon technology
An option of the stripping process proposed by Stamprogetti, supposes the usage of ammonia as the stripping’s agent. NH3 and CO2 react to form carbamide at a pressure of 150 bars and at a tempreture of 180°C. Unreacted carbamite decomposes in the stripper as affected by ammonia.

The production of carbamide granules is always the final stage of producing carbamide.
Depending on the plant, we use two main types of producing granules: prilling and granulation. The prilling method involve cooling the carbamide melt droplets, which are in free fall and their crystallization in the oncoming cooling airflow.
The second option uses the technology of carbamide granulation in a ‘boiling’ layer. The main advantage of granular carbamide is the higher strength of the granules and, accordingly, less caking during transportation.
