The biggest producer is China which accounts for 25% of production followed by Turkey with 12% and Nigeria with 9%. 2.7 million tons of peppers are grown in Turkey of which 60% are Turkish Sivri (ITALIAN GREEN), 25% bell, 8% sweet kapia and 4% Charleston varieties.
