The peanut is a legume species native to South America but widespread throughout the World. Due to its pleasant taste and nutritional properties, the consumption of peanuts and its derivative products has spread worldwide. In Argentina, peanuts are grown mainly in the center and south of the Province of Córdoba, where agroecological conditions are optimal for its development. Nonetheless, it is also grown in San Luis, La Pampa, Buenos Aires, Salta, Santa Fe and Jujuy. Argentina is among the first five countries in the world to export peanuts.
