Description

Located in Elvillar de Alava at an altitude of 585 metres, the San Roque winery was founded more than 60 years ago with the intention of continuing the wisdom of wine making passed down from fathers to sons, in which the care of the land and the loving care given to the wine making process stand out. The San Roque winery has grown without losing the wisdom it inherited from our ancestral wine-producing culture, and incorporating other ways of understanding the viticulture. This reinterpretation of our way life with the wine, has brought about the birth of Cota 585, a new spirit backed by a long tradition of wine making. With more than 350 hectares of old vineyards in the centre of La Rioja, Alavesa, protected by the Cantabrian mountain range, we produce COTA 585.

At this altitude of 585 metres with a constant aeration and the chalky soil, unique in the whole of the world, means that our vines give us a bountiful harvest of exceptional quality.

The slow maturing, and the choice of the harvest time give us our new wine COTA 585 its particular character and strength. TASTING NOTES : Colour:Red ruby with slight brick-red glints. AROMA: Ripe fruits with spicy hints and soft oaky nuances. Intense and well balanced. TASTE: Elegant fruity hints well combined with an ample tannic structure, gentle in mounth.
