Tomato

Seijiro Miyashita
Miyashita Farm / Representative

I am Seijiro Miyashita, the third

generation of Miyashita Farm. I am

struggling every day to make my mini-

tomatoes "Miya Tomatoes" and rice

delicious so that my customers can

enjoy the high quality of the products I

row.

My hobby is teaching judo at the "Moriyama Juvenile Judo School" in Moriyama-cho, Isahaya City, my hometown, out of my love for children.
I want children to grow up healthy and strong in mind and body. I start from what I can do to make my hometown a place that children can be proud of.

Consistent special cultivation since the opening of the farm
We were certified as an Eco-Farmer in 2021.

My father, the second generation, succeeded to the rice farming business during the postwar period, when farmers switched to agricultural chemicals and chemical fertilizers in an effort to alleviate food shortages. However, my father stubbornly continued to use organic compost and organic fertilizers, saying, "The taste is different.
Following in my father's footsteps, I have been growing rice and mini-tomatoes using mainly organic fertilizers with a lot of time, effort, and love.
The use of fewer pesticides and chemical fertilizers results in lower yields than normal cultivation. Even so, our motto is "safe, secure, and delicious!

"Miya Tomatoes" grow healthily, rich in sweetness and flavor
Variety: CF Kosuzu

My father, who immersed himself in agriculture, realized through trial and error that tomatoes grow well in "100% pure lagoon" and has been trying to cultivate them for more than 40 years. After many years of soil improvement through his single-minded pursuit of tomatoes, I, six years ago, started a special cultivation of mini-tomatoes with added value through detailed environmental control throughout 24 hours a day.
These specially cultivated mini-tomatoes were named "Miya Tomato" after one of the letters of my name, Miyashita, and we started selling them in October 2021. Currently, we grow three varieties of Miya Tomatoes.

We do not restrict the water content of Miya Tomatoes during the cultivation period in order to achieve high sugar content. They absorb the abundant water characteristic of lagoons and grow vigorously.

By the time Miya tomatoes are ripe, the stems and leaves are also high in sugar content. This is proof that they have absorbed the "lagoon minerals," the blessings of the sea from the reclaimed land in the Moriyama area, and have grown healthily.

Miyamiya Tomatoes are rich in lycopene and vitamin C, and have a high-sugar sweetness and a rich, tasty flavor with high glutamic acid.
