Choline (2-hydroxyethyl-trimethyl ammonium hydroxide), commonly classified as complex
Synthesized vitamin B group (commonly called vitamin B4), is a low-molecular-weight organic compound necessary for the maintenance of physiological functions for animals. And Choline can be synthesized in vivo animals, but it is often required in animal feeds with the monomer vitamin proportioning the largest amount. It also can regulate the metabolism and transformation of fat in animals’ body, prevent fat deposition and tissue degeneration for liver and kidney, and promote the formation of amino acid thus to improve the utilization rate of amino acids and then to save part of methionine.
In the use of choline chloride, in addition to preventing its hygroscopic deliquescence, it also suggest pay attention to that all feeds have been ended up with adding choline chloride because it will cause the destruction of other vitamins, especially when there are metal elements. The destruction of vitamins A, D and K is faster so choline is not suggested add to the multi-dimensional preparation, and the compound feed should be used as soon as possible if it has been added the choline chloride .
If there is not enough choline in animal feed, animals will probably suffer from choline deficiency. For example:
