Introduction and Application
Naphtha is one of the petroleum products, also known as chemical light oil and crude gasoline. It is a light oil processed from crude oil or other raw materials and used as chemical raw materials. Due to different uses, there are different distillation ranges. China stipulates that the distillation range is about 220 ℃ of the final distillation point. When used as cracking raw material for ethylene production, 70 ℃~145 ℃ distillate is used, which is called light naphtha; For the purpose of producing aromatics or gasoline with high octane number, 70 ℃~180 ℃ distillate shall be used and naphtha shall be weighed; When used as solvent, it is called solvent naphtha; Aromatic solvents from coal tar are also weighed as naphtha or solvent naphtha.
Naphtha is a kind of light oil, which is obtained by distilling crude oil or cutting corresponding distillates from petroleum secondary processing. The boiling point range depends on the need, usually a wide distillation range, such as 30-220 ℃.
Naphtha is an important raw material for cracking in tubular furnace to produce ethylene, propylene and catalytic reforming to produce benzene, toluene and xylene. As cracking feedstock, the content of alkanes and naphthenes in naphtha shall not be less than 70% (volume).
When used as catalytic reforming feedstock to produce gasoline components with high octane number, the feed is a wide fraction with a boiling point range of 80-180 ℃. When used to produce aromatic hydrocarbons, the feed is a narrow fraction with a boiling point range of 60-165 ℃.
