Dry Powder Class ABC Fire Extinguisher
Dry Powder Extinguishers are also known as ABC Extinguisher as these are often used for class A (carbonaceous),class B(flammable liquid),class C(flammable gas).These are also used for fires involving electrical equipment(up to 1000v).
• Class A fires : Fires involving flammable solids, such as paper, wood, and textiles
• Class B fires : Fires involving flammable liquids, such as petrol, diesel, and paint
• Class C fires : Fires involving flammable gases, such as butane and methane
• Class B fires : Fires involving flammable liquids, such as petrol, diesel, and paint
• Class C fires : Fires involving flammable gases, such as butane and methane
Dry Powder extinguishers put out fire by coating the fuel with a thin layer of dust, separating the fuel from the oxygen in the air. The powder also works to interrupt the chemical reaction of fire, so these extinguishers are extremely effective at putting out fire.
These extinguishers will be found in a variety of locations,such as large workshops,warehouses ,laboratories, mechanical rooms, break rooms, chemical storage areas, offices, etc.
How To Use
Firstly break the anti-tamper seal ,remove the safety pin - Then squeeze the handle and stand well back from the fire
-Finally sweep the fire from side to side
