Mamma’s Tomato Sauce is a genuine homemade pasta sauce from local, Sicilian, mature and carefully selected tomatoes. Cooked in very large pans, passed through the “Passata pomodoro“ and reduced to the right consistency for immediate use. Bottled and sterilized in those very Italian brown bottles it maintains its southern Italian “profumo” and has a use by date of 2 years.
We use only very ripe, local tomato which we harvest when it is mature and sun drenched at about the end of August. We do not add any sugar or herbs to our tomato sauce, because ripe tomatoes do contain hardly any acidity and are naturally sweet and aromatic.

Our company was founded in 2004 under the name of “Il Mercato” . After years of continuous work and expansion in 2015 we were ready to open our local company to larger markets and changed it to the actual “Tasting Sicily” Brand. It has always been the love for good food, the passion for our island, the excellency of sicilian raw materials and our commitment to quality that made us go forward. Still today we produce and pack our products by hand and continue to offer high quality specialities to food lovers.
