AG-Sorb, a modified cellulose-based all-purpose bio degradable oil sorbent is an environmentally friendly product for oil spill response activities.
The AG-Sorb sorbent mainly consists of cellulose, and allows for the following options for its disposal after usage oil products.
• Disposal of used sorbent by incineration and conversion into fuel pellets;
• Pyrolyzation for receiving carbon. Waste sorbent oxygen free burning (pyrolyzation) generates coal (carbon) chips that can be further used as a sorbent. This way, sorbent can be used during several cycles;
• Disposal to a landfill for biodegradation. Oil products have a certain period of natural
biodegradation. Biodegradation activators added to the sorbent will accelerate the process;
• Treatment of oil-filled sorbent by heating it to "evaporate" various oil fractions. At the same time, other treatment methods may be used to recover oil products;
•Waste oil disposal. When collecting waste engine oil, remember that it is harmful in liquid form due to the fine metal fraction content - production of fuel pellets (when burned, all oil impurities go to ash) - oil recovery (partial extraction or distillation);
• Bitumen / fuel oil disposal. High viscosity oil products can be directly used as asphalt additives.
