Juju hat or Bamileke headdress originates from West Cameroon and is handmade consisting of dyed chicken feathers, stitched into a raffia basket. It is traditionally worn by royal dancers during ceremonies held by the Chief and symbolizes prosperity. Believed to posses the positive nature of birds, it is an object of rare beauty and will create a statement when displayed on any wall.

The history of juju hats, tyn hats, or Aka hats is deeply tied within the Bamileke people of Western Cameroon in Central Africa.
These unique Bamileke feather headdresses are handmade by the Bamileke people. They are traditionally worn by royal dancers during tribal ceremonies held by the Chief as they symbolize prosperity, freedom, and beauty. These textured and organic art pieces have become a favorite amongst the best-known interiors designers and are coveted in the world of interior design as striking statement pieces. Each of my pieces is unique, authentic, and handmade in Cameroon.
Juju hat feather hat Bamiléké or Tyn hat, is a headdress worn by the royal dancers of the Bamiléké tribes during important
ceremonies held by the tribal chief.
They symbolize prosperity and are believed to posses the positive qualities of birds and the beauty as well as fragility of life.
The headdresses are made of natural or dyed feathers as well as various wild bird feathers. The feathers are on a woven cotton base.

In juju hats we use natural feathers, tail and 100% natural cotton thread. We recommend cleaning it with a dry cloth or with a duster, without wetting it at any time.
