Preparation Section
Layout design and selection of material handling equipment for continuous trouble free operation with sufficient approach space to equipment.
Seed cleaner, de-stoner, Partial de-hullers are of internationally reputed make (Fowler Westrup). A leading supplier for grain, oil seed handling plant supplier.

Expander with Squeezomatic system: Expanding to produce firm porous collets with negligible fines. For recovery of oil from high oil content seed. ` proposed cleaning system for recover oil from expander. Horizontal band conveyor type drier cooler to produce collets of maximum 8-8.5% moisture and maintain temp 50-55% for efficient oil recovery in extraction section.
Milling defect of prepared material is maintain in the rang i.e. 0.22%
Process Description for Preparatory
Seed cleaning for removal of light and heavier impurities from feed materials This is important step in preparatory section for removal of fines, soil, and silica to minimize wear and tear of downward equipment using simple vibratory screens with aspiration and inbuilt seed distribution. Cleaning is done in the multi deck seed cleaner. The Cleaner is composed of various sizes screen designed to segregate the different fractions. The aspiration system along with cleaner is used to remove light particles and loose hulls. The light material is then separated from air in cyclone. The Cleaned seeds are then sent to De-stoner for further processing.
De-stoning: The main purpose of De-stoner is to remove seed sized stones which have not been separated by screening. De-stoner’s works on the principle of difference in density to separate heavy stones from lighter seeds. De-stoner consists of vibratory system with aspiration system works on fluidization principle.
Cracking section The Purpose of cracking is to primarily reduce the particle size sufficiently to ensure uniform cooking without producing an excessive quantity of fines. Cracking/breaking is achieved in roller mill (Two pair fluted mill). Also Braked seeds reduce the power required to subsequent processing steps. It is four roll mills with seed distribution throughout the length of the cracker and inbuilt permanent magnet for entrapping any metal particles.
Partial De-hulling : The remove loose hulls form cracked materials. De-hulling is done in the multi deck separator. The de-huller is composed of various sizes screen designed to segregate the different fractions. The aspiration system along with de-huller is used to remove loose hulls.
Pre-conditioning of cleaned partially de-hulled materials to desire temperature To objective of cooking-Conditioning are:
To rupture oil cell by flushing off intrinsic moisture as steam.
To decrease the viscosity of the oil, making easier to remove.
To coagulate protein in seeds.
To sterilize the seed by destroying enzyme activity and preventing the growth of moulds or bacteria.
Flaking of pre-conditioned materials using two smooth roll mills to produce 0.25 mm to 0.3 mm thick flakes Flaking serve to ruptured the cell structure and make the oil more readily available for Extraction. Flaking increases the surface area available for extraction of oil. Flaker consisting of one pair (two roll) chilled cast iron rolls mounted on heavy duty roller bearing. The machine consists of permanent magnet for entrapping any iron particles. The equipment provided with hydraulic system to maintain even pressure for producing thin flakes.
Expander with Squeezomatic system To prepare porous collets for better percolation and extractability.
The prepared flakes are conditioned to desired moisture level temperature prior to expanding which will help to produce firm / strong collets with higher porosity and minimum fine. Squeezomatic system for extracting partial oil from higher oil content seed. Squeezed oil is then clarified using Vibro separator and PLF and filtered oil is transfer to storage tank.
Flakes / collets cooling The flakes from flaker / collets from expander are transferred to Cooler to maintain the temperature 50 – 55 0C before feeding to Extractor feed hopper.
