Laminated Glass with KIMONO Fabric

Laminated glass is composed of two or more layers of glass bonded together using heat and pressure to form an intermediate layer of laminated glass resin.
In our case, we sandwich real kimono fabric between the resin and the intermediate layer of laminated glass to produce decorative laminated glass with kimono fabric.
The Kimono fabric is dyed one by one with a brush by a craftsman who actually produces Kyo Yuzen. Therefore, any color can be dyed, so you can dye the kimono fabric in your favorite color, place it inside the laminated glass, and use it anywhere you like.
There are no ready-made glass sizes, but we can produce glass in any size you like. (There is a maximum and minimum production size.)
All products are completely made to order, so there is no stock.

Why Kimono Fabrics for Laminated Glass?
Kimono fabrics cannot usually be washed in a washing machine or with water.
Because kimono fabrics are made of 100% silk, they must be washed by a professional kimono wash company if they become soiled.
Also, ultraviolet rays can burn the fabric, causing the color to fade.
Furthermore, exposure to air causes oxidation, which leads to discoloration and fading.
However, by encapsulating the glass in laminated glass by heating and crimping in a vacuum, the glass can be wiped clean even if it gets dirty, the resin for laminated glass is resistant to ultraviolet rays, making it very resistant to fading, and it is also resistant to oxidation because it is contained in the glass in a vacuum.

Restricted Use Location
Some places are not allowed to use it due to the kimono fabric inside.
The fabric is not usable outdoors.
The fabric is visible at the small opening of the laminated glass because it rains outdoors, and if water gets on it, the fabric will absorb water due to capillary action, which may cause discoloration or peeling.
For the same reason, we also do not allow the use of the product in humid places.
This is especially true in bathrooms, where moisture tends to accumulate.
Places where temperatures are continuously high above 60 degrees Celsius are also not acceptable.
The resin used for laminated glass has a property of melting at temperatures above 60 degrees Celsius, so places where the heat continues above 60 degrees Celsius are not acceptable.
In particular, it is best to avoid places near the stove in the kitchen, as it gets very hot.
