Purple color UV powder fluorescent under UV light

The fluorescing color properties under a UV (Black) light source make the phantom pigments uniquely 

suited for security applications and product authentication. UV excitable pigments offer excellent physical 

properties, unique color shade and ease of use. 

Plastic Applications: 

UV excitable pigments have excellent heat stability. They can withstand temperatures above 550°F (288°C) making them excellent candidates for use in plastic resins. Phantom pigments are compatible with a number

 of different resin systems and molding processes. Phantom pigments can be used in polyolefins, PVC, ABS, PC,

 GPPS, and HIPS. It is recommended that these products be thoroughly tested in specific formulations to ensure 

that individual performance specifications are met. Concentrations of UV excitable pigments between 0.25%  

and 2% are recommended for initial formulatory screenings. 

Graphic Arts and Coatings Applications: 

Because of UV excitable pigments excellent solvent resistance, they can be used in a number of inks and coatings.

 An initial pigment concentration of 5% to 10% is recommended but may need to go up to 25% based on film thickness. 

However, this is an individual choice based on color strength response under a UV light source. Additives, binders and 

paper used in printing can influence the performance of UV excitable pigments. Their effects should be tested in the final 

applicationformula. When printing, do not use substrates that have been coated with an optical brightener. 

Precautions: 

UV excitable pigments exhibit good lightfastness and UV response for indoor applications. However, the product's exterior

 lightfastness is limited. The user should conduct testing to determine if the Phantom pigments will meet their lightfastness 

requirements for the final application. Caution should be used when formulating with strong mineral acids since this can cause

 the pigments to dissolve and lose their luminescent properties.
