SCB water based Intumescent Coating for Interior Structural Steel

SCB is  water-based intumescent coating for structural steel. In a fire, it can be expanded quickly and formed a fire barrier to prevent the spread of fire. The unique properties of SCB are: fast drying, excellent fire resistance, good weather resistance, minimal thickness and attractive, deorative finish.

SCB is the first product of thin-film structural steel intumescent coating developed in China and it has been widely used in many large projects. It has been applied for a nuclear power plant in Pakistan , a sports stadium in Fiji and a textile plat in Micronesia.

I.  Technical specifications (Tested to GB14907-2002 “Fire Resistive Coating for Structural Steel”)

Apperance: white, vistcous liquid

Touch dry: 2 hours

Water Resistant: immersed in water for more than 24 hours without any defects

Vibration Resistance: for flexure L/200, without cracts and peeling on coating

Bending Resistance: for flexure L/200, without cracts and peeling on coating

Anti-crack in Initial
Stages: No cracks appeared

Freeze-thaw Resistance: Done 15 times without any defets

Fire Resistance: It can provide up to 120 minutes fire resistance for 2 mm dry film thickness

 

 Application

•  First clean away the dust, grease and other contaminants on the substrate before application. Apply anti-rust paint.

•  Stir Thoroughly to an even consistency. City water can be added to dilute the coating if it is too sticky.

•  SCB can be applied by brush or spray only when the air temperature is over 5°C . Apply evenly with a clean, well-loaded brush at less than 0.2mm dry film thickness(dft) unit achieve required thickness. Allow at least 4~6 hours drying between coats. It can provide up to 2.5hours fire resistance depending on the dry film thickness:

Storage and Transportation

It is available in 50kg plastic  bucket. It can be stored for 3 months. Transport the same as those ordinary paints

 

 Caution

The SCB is a water–baseed coating. Well ventilation is must during application.

The SCB coating should be applied by professional workers or undr the guided by our technicians . It's better not to apply when there is moisture condensation formed on surface or relative humidity over 90%.

All steel structural intumescent coating in China can only be used in doors. When used in open air, water proof Treatment for surface of coating should be used.
