Sencha green tea is the most popular green tea in Japan. you might hear different types of Green teas in the market matcha, gunpowder, etc. These green teas different from each other is the way the farmers grow the plant and its processing.

How do we process Sencha Green Tea in Sri Lanka

This tea also comes from the same Camellia Sinensis plant, as almost all the teas do. After the plant grows, we are using the youngest leaves to make sencha green tea. and it gives the best quality.

Mainly, the fresh tea leaves go to the steaming process immediately to prevent oxidation.

as you know, if the leaves would fully be oxidized it becomes black tea.

Then we move the tea leaves drying and rolling process. in this process, the tea dries off, as a result, it gets well shape and taste.

The shape of the leaves is long and narrow in appearance and In the cup, sencha brews a light yellow to powerful green color.

The taste of Sencha is fresh and in the balance between its natural sweetness and its astringency. and exhibiting its vegetal/grassiness without being bitter

We use bulk paper sacks for all of our bulk tea orders. normally 50 kg of tea can be filled to a paper sack, but it can be varied with each type of tea grades.

example, we can fill 30-35 kg of OP (Loose Leaf) tea grade to the sack. but BOPF can be filled 50 kg to the sack.
