This new replacement heater has two glass tubes inside and measures approximately 9 1/2" side to side. Comes complete as shown but also includes extra wire lengths and wire nuts for some additional applications. Fits many, but not all, GE, Hotpoint and some Kenmore refrigerators.
What's the difference between the WR51X10101 and the WR51X10053 defrost heaters? The 0053 heater is a SINGLE tube heater while the 10101 is a DOUBLE tube heater. It is an important distinction because the 10101 has much better defrosting ability than the 0053. Although both will fit in the cavity designed for the defrost heater in your freezer, the 10101 will do a much better job of defrosting, especially if you are experiencing chronic problems with the defrost cycle (like excessive ice accumulation of constant failures due to defrosting).
