Polyethylene oxide (PEO), also known as polyethylene oxide, is a crystalline, thermoplastic water-soluble polymer. The product with a relative molecular mass of 1x105 to 1x106 is called polyethylene oxide. PEO polyoxyethylene is a white flowable powder with a molecular structure of (CH2CH2O). The concentration of reactive end groups of such resins is low and there is no obvious end group activity.
Product Application It is completely soluble in water and soluble in some organic solvents. Its solution has a very high viscosity at low concentrations;
It is a thermoplastic resin with flexibility and high strength. Can be processed by calendering, extrusion, casting, etc.;
Resistant to bacterial attack, not corrosive, and generally not hygroscopic in the atmosphere;
The polymer of the polymer has a flocculation effect;
Good compatibility with other resins. PEO has extensibility, and when the temperature is higher than the melting point of the resin, the high molecular weight PEO becomes a thermoplastic. It is sometimes necessary to add a plasticizer or other thermoplastic resin to the resin, which is convenient for processing on the one hand and good composite properties of PEO on the other hand. Although PEO is easily soluble in water, its heat absorbing property is very low compared with other water-soluble resins due to its high crystallinity. PEO and some resins have good compatibility, which provides favorable conditions for the modification of PEO.
