Q1: It it made of natural hemp or imitation hemp? Because imitation hemp is not real hemp, it’s made of polyester, just of the similar pattern of the hemp. and it's cheaper than hemp. How to test it? The hemp burns to ash, the polyester burns to a ball.
Q2:If the answer of Q1 is natural fiber, Is it made of cannabis? Because It's easy to mistake hemp with linen or ramie
All these fabrics (hemp, linen, ramie, jute...)are called 麻(ma) in Chinese, but there isn't a word which is equal to 麻（ma）in English. Sometimes 麻（ma）is translated to hemp in English, but 麻（ma） is not only hemp. it include hemp, linen, ramie and other fabric. So It's esay to mistake them. when you hear hemp in China, maybe they are talking about hemp, linen or ramie or others. any of the 6 fabric is possible. most time, when we say "hemp"in China, It's linen. but when some body from English speaking country say "hemp", It's only hemp.
Q3: Is it 100% hemp? What's the component of the hemp fabric? Hemp fiber can be made to 100% hemp yarn and hemp blended yarn, blending with cotton,linen , polyester or a bit nylon, then we can get 100% hemp fabric or hemp blended fabric. How to test it? The 100% hemp is hard to dye, It can only dye a few dark color, such as black, dark grey, dark blue, dark brown, Bleach to white. If it can make light colors, it can't be 100% hemp.
