What is RFID Card?
The RFID-System consists of 2 components:
* A memory chip with antenna – the so-called transponder and
* A transponder writer/reader – the so-called transponder reader.

If the transponder is brought within the range of the transponder reader and identified with the correct signal frequency, the RFID transponder supplies the data stored in the memory. A corresponding transponder reader can be used to store the data on the RFID transponder. The equipment shown can both read data from transponders and write data on the transponders. Movable items such as semi-finished goods in production processes or goods in logistics processes are usually provided with RFID transponders and written with specific data. With the help of transponder readers it is now possible to track these goods and products and to control their flow. An RFID transponder is also used as an electronic
key to check whether persons are authorised to gain access to buildings or facilities. A well-known example is the car immobilizer. RFID transponders are also used in maintenance and to keep log books.
