Energy efficiency and decoration effect are the two key requirements of modern architecture for glass. Low-E coated glass is a kind of glass on which surface sputtered several layers of metals compounds. Ithas high visible transmission and high reflectance to infrared. Therefore, Low-E glass can supply very good
heat insulating performance and meet the requirements of energy saving by preventing overfull energy coming into room during summer time and reducing indoor heat loss during winter time. Because of
different geographical and design requirement,
Low-E glass is divided into 2 types: Sunlight shading Low-E glass and high transmittance Low-E glass.
Characters of single silver sunlight shading Low-E glass
* Moderate visible light transmittance to create the right indoor lighting effects and has shading function
to outdoor sight
* The lower solar transmittance – glass shading coefficient SC<0.5, to limit solar heat radiation into room.
* High reflectance to infrared – the low heat transfer coefficient U-value, to limit outdoor summer heat
radiation into room.
Characters of single silver high transmittance Low-E glass
* High visible light transmittance – it has good permeability and good indoor lighting effect.
* High solar transmittance – the more solar radiation through glass, the glass shading coefficient
SC ≥ 0.5
* High reflectance to infrared – lower heat transfer coefficient U-value and excellent insulating
performance.
Application:
Widely used in all kinds of curtain wall, facade, greenhouse, internal partition, windows and doors
