An anamorphic prism pair is a pair of prisms which is usually used for reshaping the profile of a laser beam. For example, An anamorphic prism pair is used to expand a laser beam in one dimension. This makes it ideal for converting the elliptical beam shape of laser diodes into a nearly circular one by magnifying the elliptical beam in one dimension. They can also be used to convert a circular beam into an elliptical beam.
