SC Series Bottom Dead Point Monitoring Device 

SC31/32

This device will detect the slugs coming up by detecting the displacement of stripper plate 

when slugs come up. The displacement is detected by the sensors, which are installed on 

the stripper plate.

SC31,comprise of Monitor, Proximity sensor, Proximity Block, Connection cable, Fixing Mount.

SC32,comprise of Monitor, 2 Proximity sensors, 2 Proximity Blocks, 2 Connection cables, 2 Fixing Mounts.

 

Detection Method:

Bottom Dead Center Monitoring (B.D.C)

If a slug is caught in the die with spring loaded stripper, the stripper position will be changed,

the slug is detected by the displacement of the B.D.C. 

 

1. Characteristic:

The slug, which is caught in upper or lower surface of the raw material will be crashed by 

stripper plate of the die which has spring loaded stopper at B.D.C. However, 20 to 40% of 

slug thickness (depends on material) will be remained and it will shift the position of stripper 

plate. This device will detect the displacement of the stripper plate by comparing with normal

position.
This device will not be affected by the change of material thickness or rise in temperature of 

the unit since it compares the displacement of the stripper plate at every stroke.
This device is not be affected by the bound or spring load of the stripper plate due to bottom

hold type system which only detects the lowest point of the stripper plate by using micro-processor.

1. Sensor operation setup distance:Location (A)from0.8mm to 1.2mm, please press setup switch thereafter 199-0 displayed, Move the iron block of the sensor head, it can be adjusted to 80~120 as operation distance. (Meaning 0.8mm to 1.2mm) Press setup switch again after set-up process.
2. Operation of monitoring value setup:Accuracy range sets up from ±1μm~±99μm depends on your exact accuracy requirement.
3. While stamping die starts runing, the first four times displaying digits meaning the averange of the die-height testing.(It will be re~calculated while stamping machine power off or the sensor line out of the basic unit and re-plug-in)
4. SP:Deplays when abnormal speed and machine stop; other reasons: upper or lower iron blocks drop out suddenly.
5. OP:Sensor line and sensor head disconnect or sensor line pull out from the unit.
6. HI:Abnormal too high, the red light lights up and abnormal high the yellow light lights up.(Distance higher over than1.2mm)
7. LO:Abnormal too low and low, the red light lights up.(distance lower over than 0.8mm)
8. ES:Displays when error carring, missing material or material jammed.
9. Abnormal light lights up when tolerance displayed value over than pre-set.

    10.Self-Check functions avaliable.

    11.This product provides precision set-up value as 1μm, it is selectable against different accurate toolings.

Options available for Error-Carry-On, Missing material ( by Electro-Eyes sensor ) and Material Jammed ( By sensoring Bar ) .
