It was difficult to blacken with glass and it took more than two years to complete.
Also, when making Edo Kiriko, a craftsman looks into the glass and scrapes it, but if it is black glass, it cannot be seen through, so skill is required.




Cutting out the growth rings vertically will create a surface with stripes of straight grain.
Straight grain items are luxurious as they can only be produced from the center of trees.
This glass has evenly spaced out stripes,designed to image the straight grain.
