What is LLDPE Granules 

Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) refers to low density type polymer with a density between about 0.915 and 0.930 g/cm3 and a certain amount of short chain branches.

The properties of LLDPE are:

• Flexibility with high impact strength


• Translucency and natural milky color


• Good chemical resistance


• Good water vapor and alcohol barrier properties


• Good stress crack and impact resistance

What Is It Used For?

Various grades of LLDPE are produced, which differ in the properties to match the requirements for different applications. Some of the most well known grades of LLDPE are as followed:

• Film


• Injection molding


• Rotomolding


• Stretched tape


• Monofilament


• Yarn and caps and closure

LLDPE is manufactured in the form of granules or powder, and different kinds of additives, such as anti block agents, antioxidants, and UV stabilizers, are usually added to them.

 What is Main Application

The higher tensile strength and superior impact and puncture resistance of LLDPE have made it more popular than its low-density polyethylene (LDPE) rival. These properties provide thinner films without sacrificing strength, as well as saving material and reducing costs. LLDPE's good toughness relative to other products has also opened up new application areas.

The highest usage of LLDPE is for film applications, such as food and non-food packaging, shrink/stretch film, and non-packaging uses, with around 80% globally. Extrusion coating and injection molding are among the other applications of LLDPE.
