Qingdao Leigh-Mardon Packaging Co., Ltd. ("QLM" or the "Company") is a joint venture established by AMVIG Holdings Limited ("AMVIG") and Etsong Tobacco (Group) Co., Ltd., ("Etsong"), each of which own 60% and 40% of the company shares respectively. Amcor Limited ("Amcor") is the ultimate holding company of QLM.
The Company was established on June 28, 1995 with a registered capital of $15.51 million, and a total investment of $ 18.51 million. Qingdao Leigh-Mardon Packaging Co., Ltd. is a packaging service provider that provides one-stop solution to customers, includes design, proofing, printing, packaging, logistics and etc.
The company covers a total 43,000 square meters, with plant area of 36,000 square meters and warehouse area 6,800 square meters.
We have grown continuously in recent years. With less than 100 staff when opening, we have now more than 470 employees.
The Company is constantly updating and maintaining its equipment during recent years, to assure that they are running in good condition. Currently, we have gravure printing lines, offset printing lines, and silkscreen printing lines. The Company also possess equipment for advanced technologies like gravure printing with UV ink, anti-fake holographic hot stamping, and lines that are able to directly connect printing with embossing and die cutting.
The Company obtained the certificate of ISO9001 Quality Management in 1999, and the certificate of ISO14001 Environmental Management & OHSAS18001 Occupational Health and Safety in 2010 through British Standards Institution (BSI) .
The Company has been recognized as a Grade 2 National Safety Production Standard Enterprise and passed Offset Printing Green Certification in 2014.
The Company was one of the first companies that passed National Gravure Printing Green Certification; it also passed the auditing of Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) and FSC's Chain of Custody Certification in 2015.
In September 2014, the Company set up Anyike Testing Limited ("Anyike"), a company to provide professional testing and analysis services to printing/packaging company and government institutions that possesses professionals and advanced testing instruments.
Qingdao Leigh-Mardon R&D Center has been put into service since January 2014, with an investment amount of 22 million RMB. Our R&D Center is a well-equipped facility that qualified for technology research and development, proofing production, and offices. It now has become a Municipal Technical Center of Qingdao and a Provincial Enterprises Technical Center of Shandong.
The R&D center focuses on research and development of sophisticated printing and packaging techniques, which include: R&D of new products, for instance package surface & structure creativity design;
-The application of special papers in printing (e.g. holographic anti-counterfeiting laser paper, transfer paper with zinc sulfate coating)
-The development of stamping techniques (e.g. hot-stamping, cold-stamping, cold transfer and etc)
-The application of varnish on products
-Eco-friendly and innovative packing solution.
The Company is one of the leading factory in Chinese cigarette packaging industry in terms of production capacity, quality control, technology and innovation, thus it participated in drafting multiple industrial and national standards of printing techniques and their quality inspections.
