Sodium ascorbateProperties


White (slightly yellowish) crystalline or crystalline powder, odorless, slightly odorous. Melting point 218 C (decomposition). It is soluble in water (62g/100mL), insoluble in benzene, ether and chloroform, and insoluble in ethanol. Ph value of 2% aqueous solution is 6.5-8.0. It is stable in dry air. It will be oxidized and decomposed slowly after moisture absorption and in aqueous solution, especially in neutral or alkaline solution. The oral LD50 of rats was > 5g/kg, and the ADI value was not specified (FAO/WHO, 1994).
