 Carbomer polymer(synonym: Carpobol), chemical name: Carboxypolymethylene. It is high molecular weight cross-linked polymer.is a generic name for synthetic  high molecular weight polymers of acrylic acid used as thickening,dispersing,suspending and emulsifying agents in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.they may be homopolymers of acryli acid, carbomers as white and fluffy powders .they have the ability to absorb,retain water and swell to many times their original volume.Carbomers codes(934,940,941and 1342)are an indication of molecular weight and the specific components of the polymer.

940	40000-100000	It is an extremely efficient rheology modifier capable of  providing high viscosity and forms sparkling clear water or hydroalcoholic gels and creams.
941	4000-11000	The gels produced with this polymer have excellent clarity. Suggested applications include clear gels, hydro-alcoholic gels, and lotions.
1342	20000-40000	This property makes the product uniquely suitable for aqueous solutions or dispersions containing dissolved salts. In addition, it has improved compatibility in thickening and imparting yield value to ionic surfactants.                                                   Application                                                

    For skin care products: hydrophilic thickening agent, stabilizing emulsifier, suspension agent, gel agent, with good transparency,it needs to maintain medium to weak alkalinity to have consistency, so it cannot coexist with acid skin activating ingredients. Inaddition, Carbomer is also afraid of salt, so it cannot add mineral ions, otherwise the consistency will disappear, and it isirritating to eye mucosa.
